What’s the phenomenon of Rear axle differential Abnormal noise?

When the vehicle on driving, turning around with abnormal sound or jitter body sense, it’s mean for differential malfunction.

 

How to distinguish?

1. When the car turning around at low speed taxiing body shake slightly. Should we check the differential case rivets or bolts loose, if the planetary gear assembly too tight.
2. Turning around with abnormal noise, straight disappear. How to distinguish? Should we shore up the rear axle and turn one side rear wheel by hand to see another side turnig situation. When it’s showing as below:

  1) Two wheel turning direction consistent. Analysis on three aspects:

 

 A. Axle planetary gears or gear teeth of side gear is broken, scrap squeezed between the gear teeth;

 

 B. Planetary gear and Cross shaft Shibuya stagnation;

 

 C. Planetary gear thrust pad is too thick, rotation is difficult.

 

  2) Two wheel turning in the opposite:

 

 A. Planetary gear and side gear is not complete;

 

 B. Axle planetary gears or side gear damaged.

 

     Above all aspects to distinguish rear differential abnormal noise. It’s almost occurs when the vehicle turns around, but when the vehicle straight the sound will disappear or weaken.
